Greetings! Following on from last week when there seems little end in sight to the woes of inflation and rising interest rates I thought it worthwhile to look at and discuss how the worlds dependence on debt both at an individual and governmental level has created the woes we are experiencing and how we can change - so I repeat that part of last weeks message for further reflection on how to live debt free and look forward to our discussion on Zoom after the Bank Holiday quoteTHE EVILS OF DEBT - NEITHER A BORROWER NOR A LENDER BE - (Shakespeare) for loan oft loseth both itself and friend and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry(thrift)6.A society in which our young people are encouraged to emerge into the declining workplace saddled with debt and without the fundamental personal skills and mental capacity to earn their own livings to pay for their "entitled" lifestyle without incurring yet more debt seems economically, politically and morally indefensible .as is the reported assertion of politicians that only through "poverty" can we halt inflation- it is only through debt that inflation is incurred whether by individuals or governments with the attendant increase in the money supply with no foundation. - the "I want it now" credit card/ 100% interest only mortgage mentality has taken over when it has long been recognised in scientific studies that the ability to delay gratification is the attribute of both successful people and Nations- see Adam Smith. A deflationary monetary policy will have a knock on effect on the ability of the poorest to spend to buy the products of our manufacturing and service industries leading to loss of yet more jobs - as seen in the great depression in the 1930s.We are already seeing the effects in the housing market that was fuelled by greed and debt in the expectation of profit. Raised interest rates are nothing new- in the 1980s many lost their mortgaged properties which were really owned - as they still are- by the banks.the mortgagees are losing nothing by the interest they have already paid instead of rent. it was their choice.in a free market economy in which prices can go down as well as up. Their homes are not their own homes - they are owned in the main by the banks NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION7. - but nearly all invention and free thinking creativity is today stifled by bureaucratic rules- which BREXIT was designed to eliminate. It is only those with the ability and vision to think outside the box who have forged ahead to make millions and billions - Steve Jobs, Bill Gates Henry Ford et al RADIX MALOREM EST CUPIDITAS8- Mans Desire for more wealth is the root of all evil. - that is being dissatisfied with what we already have as not good enough encouraged by a vanity media cultureOnly through removing the safety net and myth of Government bailouts at the cost of the taxpayer for the wrongs perpetrated by our financial industries feeding off the greed in society by offering credit will order be restored. If companies such as Thames Water who were somehow allowed to incur £billions in debt need bailouts then they must revert to public ownership of the taxpayer who is funding them or be replaced.same with railwayssame with NHS which has lost all pretence of being a Service to the public and whose administrators are paid far more than the professional skilled practitioners who are the undervalued losers in this bureaucratic system. It is ultimately the public who lose out. All interpersonal relationship of trust has been destroyed .RESPECT FOR NATURAL LAW - OR ANNIHILATION?9. It is time to wake up and deal with the man-made consequences of poverty/lack thinking inducing lack of respect for the fundamental laws of nature in respect of the most important function of all creatures great and small, animals insects and plants which is to reproduce themselves - the survival of the fittest in every species on the planet. All attempts to thwart these inviolable laws appear to end in self defeating destruction through climate change, pandemics, fires, famine, an obese, cancerous and unhealthy population intent on their own destruction by substituting natural food with GMO crops- the use of plastic packaging and use of drugs to remedy the self- inflicted wounds of society and the ultimate infertility of a transgender population ruled by Artificial Intelligence. God forbid such an annihilation of the immortal soul.
