At a time of increasing international tension I felt it really important to emphasise the need to bring about Peace through negotiation rather than sabre rattling.or worse. I care not what excuses are made by any government to defend their building of defences - any such action is fundamentally made because of fear of a threat - otherwise why bother? So our own fears can bring about that which we fear - more diplomatic unrest Leading God only knows where. While I pray for Peace I love to remind myself of my visit to Crete where the Minoan civilisation existing before 2000 BC was a worldwide peaceful trading nation whose princilpal Cities - Knossos and Phaestos in addition to having sophisticated communal storage and water systems including flushing wcs and amazing artefacts and artwork- had no City Walls for protection. A highly unusual feature at that time.. Well worth a visit!! (When possible) . Just as it is essential as Joe Biden is now doing to end the rhetoric of the so called war on Terrorism (How can you ever make Peace with he who you call a terrorist and yet is another man's freedom fighter - cf Moshe Dayan) it is essential to stop all "battle" talk whether it be a battle with cancer or dementia or COVID or any other disease or doctrine. that is incurring vast expenditure and makes little headway without addressing the root causes in our society that is more and more governed by reactive fear instead of pro-active love of all mankind.
