Greetings! I do trust you are coping better than I am in a world that seems to have gone mad with Freedom of Speech and openness to learning apparently being suffocated by Wokeism and DEI policies. It seems to me that the restrictions such practices are engendering are equally as biased and racist and prohibitive as those which they are aiming to stamp out and for which retribution is sought in hindsight for the wrongs of the past..- hundreds and hundreds of years in some cases. It has always seemed a great injustice to our citizens that the principles of Double Jeopardy and Statute of Limitations (6 Years to bring a lawsuit) as well as unanimous verdicts by a Jury have been removed from the Practice of English Common Law - In the interests of "expedience" and of "righting wrongs" that have been harboured for years. Thus contributing to massive mental health problems- individually and collectively that are caused by stress. In my experience, Such harbouring of resentments and the inability to let go of them (having first honoured them for having brought the lessons which we needed to learn) is the root cause of not only sickness in the individual human body ( mental and physical) but the malaise in a society which gets stuck in the past and is unable to move on to a better and greater and healthier existence. Wasting huge financial and human resources in pursuit of vengeance is a path of self destruction. That was then - This is Now. The Biblical teachings , both Old and New Testaments all point in the same direction - "Vengeance is mine saith the Lord" and "Judge not that ye be not judged" and the need to Forgive 70 times 7 and Christs last words -" Forgive them Lord for they know not what they do" before rising from the dead - as did the Phoenix in Greek mythology after bringing its shitty secrets into the light wrapped in the ointment of forgiveness before it too rose again from the dead. Buddhists too teach always to bless your enemies and to " change the poison into medicine". Unforgiveness is the poison we are drinking ourselves in the hope our enemy will die.
