LOVE CHANGES CELLS TO MAXIMISE ENERGY AND BRINGS FLEXIBILITY IN TIMES OF CHANGE

Greetings!

AS we greet the changing of the seasons into Autumn - season of mists and mellow fruitfulness it is time to give thanks for the fruits of the earth and be grateful for all the best things in life - which, like love and air and friendship and walking or sitting in nature, are all free.. Today, so many people have become so dependent on modern technology fuelled by electricity to enable them to live in isolated bubbles in front of computer or TV screens with packaged meals or delivered junk food and chips with everything and loads of sugars and additives in almost every shop bought food that it is hard to imagine the times in which I grew up. As a baby boomer, there was still food/sugar rationing in the UK. The NHS started in 1946. No Health and Safety rules. No political correctness. No television. Had China Dolls, and Paper Dolls to dress up and wouldn't sleep without my beloved cloth Golliwog my Nana had made for me, Dinky Toys .Meccano,. Steam trains. Books like the Water Babies with Mrs Do-as -you - would -be -done by and Thomas the Tank Engine - I can I can if I think I can- as he puffed up the hill. even belief in the magic of fairies and Santa Claus I was lucky enough to go to Hong Kong in 1950 and Malaya in 1955 - 59 with my Army Doctor father - no flights - it took six weeks on a troop ship visiting many wonderful places en route. The magic of the "gully Gully Man" pulling chicks out of your ears or upturned brass cups in Port Said on entering the Suez Canal, the Zoo in Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka ). and visiting Singapore were among the high lights - and a memorable voyage back once during the Suez Crisis when we experienced the fun of the crossing the Equator ceremonies with the heavily tattooed sailors dressed up as mermaids - and inflated paddling pools for dipping - no swimming pools on deck then.

fresh tropical fruit and veg - and monkeys in the gardens- were abundant.- we had no TV but relied on radio and records for music and entertainment. shared with family and friends over home cooked meals and conversation or playing party games or cards or board games to improve our minds, memories and dexterity.. Going everywhere freely on our bikes without supervision. Cops & Robbers . And we layered up our clothes and our bedding for warmth Just like we did again during the three day week in the Miners Strike with no electricity.. I had had plenty of practice in the old country house that was my boarding school with no heating at all in the dormitories.- some areas had face creams freeze in the hard winter of 1963.. Even the duckery pond flooded and iced over the adjacent field on which I learnt to skate safely.

No duvets. I still have the patchwork eiderdown my mother gave me to take to school that she made at her coffee mornings with friends made with pieces of cloth from her own and mine and her friends homemade clothes that covered me in memories and love every night I learnt to knit and to sew my own clothes and to cook and to speak many languages and to adapt to different cultures as I was introduced to ancestor worship by my Ahmas who took me home to their families in humble Malay kampongs.

I was thrown out of Chinese classes as at 6 found it hard to adapt to ideograms when I already could read and write English.. I can still count in Chinese and Malay , love to play Mahjong and can sing" one man went to mow a meadow" in Malay !. Learnt French from the age of 8 and Latin from 9.. All this to say that I was brought up to use the power of my own mind and resourcefulness to be resilient in any situation that comes my way and be true to myself . Hence refusing the feminine role as a nurse or secretary to become one of the first women international investment bankers in the early 70,s after working in Television i- All because my enlightened father told me that if I had the brains for it I should be a Doctor back in Malaya in 1956. All I know is - if I can do it - you can do it. The trick is adapting to whatever comes along on life's journey and making the most of it Please visit my website MagicMyWorld.com for more inspiration and practical tips on how to empower yourself and stop allowing a victim mentality to hold you back from your true greatness. Wishing you a magical, miraculous life of love and learning. Susan Reed M=Manifest A=All G=Goals I=Into C=Creation A=Aligning L=Love
